We are a design studio and experience consultancy based in the UK and working globally, that provides personalised creative consultancy and brand experience development, combining design, research, storytelling, strategy — and sometimes food — as tools for transformation.
Unlike traditional design studios or advertising agencies, we use design as a medium, not an endpoint, creating online and offline strategies that go beyond branding to craft tailored, experiential solutions. Plus, we do it fluently in English and Spanish.
TL;DR:
We help businesses figure out what their brand is and how it feels, tell a story around it, and shape the relationship they want to have with their customers.

Creative Director
Creative Director
Mariela has an international academic background in design and innovation across the Manchester Metropolitan University, Universitat de València, Central Saint Martins, and University of Monterrey, where she began her career as a graphic designer.
She quickly moved beyond aesthetics into multidisciplinary work, collaborating with engineers, researchers, and innovators to tackle complex challenges, from healthcare and sustainability to food systems and culture. This blend of pragmatism and imagination defines her approach: designing like a storyteller, working like a strategist, and thinking like an engineer. This philosophy forms the foundation of how the studio and consultancy approaches every project.
Before founding Somebody&Someone, she led creative teams as both Creative Director and Head of Design, shaping brands, creative strategies, products, and services.
Alongside her studio practice, she teaches Design of New Services and Products at undergraduate level at the University of Monterrey and has been a guest lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. She has also been invited to run workshops and talks for universities, early-stage teams, and creative communities where she speaks on design process, creativity, and innovation.
